Police responded to reports of a person possibly with a gun Wednesday afternoon on Cantiague Lane in Westbury.
Officers had their guns drawn near a Nassau BOCES school following the call that came in at 1 p.m.
Police say the reports appears to be unfounded.
Nassau BOCES officials said in a statement to News 12, "Due to a possible threat in the neighborhood, Nassau BOCES Career Preparatory High School and the Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center (which houses Barry Tech and our preschool program) were on lockout this afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m. Law enforcement responded, and the lockout has been lifted. There was no incident within the buildings. There was a delay in dismissal, so students will arrive home later than usual."
