The Amityville and Sayville School Boards voted Tuesday evening not to pierce their respective tax caps.
In Amityville, taxes will still increase by over 3% for residents next year.
Schools in the Amityville Union Free School District will also have two dean positions, an assistant principal spot and two teaching positions eliminated. That is in addition to 47 positions that were already cut because of previous budget issues.
Some school programs and field trips will also be cut.
Sayville residents will also still see a tax increase of 3.7%.
Staffing cuts and the elimination to some school programs could occur if voters reject the school board's plan.
