Suffolk Police Department holds ceremony to honor 29 officers killed in the line of duty

Unfortunately, another name was added to the Memorial Wall this year. Officer Robert Kirwan died in 2023 from a 9/11-related illness.

Suffolk County police paused Friday to remember their 29 officers who were killed in the line of duty since 1960.
The ceremony took place in Yonkers.
Unfortunately, another name was added to the Memorial Wall this year. Officer Robert Kirwan died in 2023 from a 9/11-related illness.
The Suffolk County Police Department named an emergency services vehicle in his memory.
