MTA to deploy ultra-violet lights to disinfect trains, buses and stations
The MTA is going high tech in its efforts to try and encourage people to ride trains and subways again.
Officials say they are deploying 150 mobile Ultra Violet C units early next week.
The new pilot program uses a high-tech method to disinfect trains, buses and stations.
Their hope is to gauge the efficiency and cost effectiveness of this ultra-violet light technology.
After evaluation, the MTA hopes to expand to the Metro-North and LIRR.
