A Stamford attorney has filed a complaint in federal court taking aim at Gov. Ned Lamont's executive order requiring Connecticut residents to wear masks in public amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The complaint was filed by Lindy Urso and alleges "ever-increasing encroachments... on the individual freedoms and liberties secured to Connecticut citizens" by the state and U.S. constitutions.
The suit alleges that the governor doesn't have the authority to "quarantine" healthy individuals and questions the effectiveness of wearing masks.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released guidelines recommending that Americans wear masks in public to help lessen the chances of spreading the virus.
