‘It brought tears to my eyes’: Parade of appreciation held for Union County coronavirus testing site workers

A parade of appreciation took place this morning for the people working at the Union County coronavirus testing site.

A long parade of firefighters, police and EMS from throughout Union County made their way through the testing site, showing their love and appreciation for the workers as they lined up in full testing gear.
The parade lasted about 15 minutes, happening right before the site opened up. The event was special for many of health care professionals working on site.

"It's heartwarming, it brought tears to my eyes and it's something so unexpected, but it shows humanity at its best,” says Anthony Torres, who is a school nurse in Elizabeth.
The testing site has been open for 21 days, testing over 8,000 county residents, first responders and frontline workers.
