Bridgeport has at least 429 coronavirus cases and on Wednesday, added a field hospital to give more patients a place to receive care.

The tent outside Bridgeport Hospital is intended for moderately ill COVID-19 patients who need care, like oxygen or IV fluids. The city's mayor toured the facility and liked what he saw.

"You won't believe what they have added here in terms of beds. If this coronavirus continues, they have the space. It's a phenomenal job, just really, hats off," said Mayor Joe Ganim.

This week alone, the hospital discharged about 60 patients. But medical experts do not know when or how big the next wave will be.
