Photographers all over the country are using their skills to spread some cheer as families deal with being cooped up at home.

For a few moments, Sue Kawczynski snaps a couple pictures capturing the new reality.

“You’re documenting something that’s so unusual in this country, and eventually I’ll like to send the files to the museum,” says Kawczynski.

She launched a Facebook group “The Front Porch Project” to capture families in front of their homes during this pandemic.

“I don’t want anyone to pose. I want them to show what they’re feeling and hopefully they can go back and remember that moment and smile,” says Kawczynski.

 

The shoots are completely free. All she asks is for families to pay it forward and donate to City Island Strong.

“They prepare meals for people who can’t afford food basically, who are in this situation. That’s all I ask,” says Kawczynski.

Kawczynski says those interested in getting their family’s photo taken should message her on her group’s Facebook.
