A Bronx artist wrote a song to show how people are coming together during a time of crisis.
Singer Alex Bondarev, of Conversing with Oceans, says "Carry You" was written as a message of hope.
The father of two tells News 12 that part of the song is about telling his 2-year-old daughter and 9-month old-son that everything is going to be OK.
He says it is also about how first responders across the city are responding to the coronavirus crisis.
"That's the message I've been seeing from our front-line workers, our health care providers, our firefighters, our police officers and everyday people looking out for one another," he says.
The singer/songwriter wrote the lyrics down on cards while at home and posted the video online.
He works at a local hospital, and has friends on the front line taking care of those who need it most.
"What's more hopeful then seeing what people on the front line are doing for all of us. I think that's the key we should focus on together," he says.
Bondarev says he wrote the song last week as New York started to brace for the apex of virus cases.
The band is asking people to donate to groups like the CDC Foundation and "My Hero Box," which are helping hospitals across the country.
