Hudson River Health Care says it has little to no options to financially recover from decreased visits
The rapidly changing and escalating coronavirus pandemic is hitting health centers hard.
Hudson River Health Care has 42 health centers between the Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island. Of the 225,000 patients, nearly half of all visits have been online using telehealth.
The health centers are gradually moving 85% of visits online by the end of next week.
The majority of funds come through services and billing.
Hudson River Health Care say it is left with little to no options to financially recover from decreased visits at the centers.
"We’re left in the horrible situation on how to maintain access and how to treat employees with furloughing staff," says CFO Jim Sinkoff.
Hudson River Health Care is currently deciding which 13 locations will have to close down to balance its budget.
The Peekskill location will remain, as it recently began a walk-thru testing center by appointment only.
