Doctors and nurses at Bridgeport Hospital are enjoying a refill of lifesaving hand sanitizer following a donation from a distillery and a brewery.
Aspetuck Brew Lab owner Peter Cowles says his brewery isn't equipped to distill high-proof solutions like sanitizer, but he was able to reach out to some industry friends across town.
Fifth State Distillery recently put a hold on vodka and gin production to crank out industrial-grade, alcohol-based sanitizer.
Owner Bridget Schulten says she worked with Aspetuck Brew Lab to get the hospital two donated cases of ready-to-go sanitizing spray bottles within a day.
Anyone who would like to purchase hand sanitizer or liquor can go to Fifth State Distillery between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day.
