NJ Olympic-hopeful sees dreams delayed by virus pandemic

A New Jersey Olympic-hopeful saw his dreams put on hold when the 2020 Tokyo Games were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Robert Napolitano group up in Ocean County and ran at Rick Bank Catholic and Columbia University before turning pro in 2017. He was a lock to make the Puerto Rican Olympic team in the 1,500-meter. But the games have been postponed until 2021 for safety issues.
“I think we’re all supportive of it in the altruistic sense, and we all know that’s what needed to be done,” Napolitano says. “But selfishly, a lot of us are hit pretty hard by it.”
The Olympics have only been canceled two other times – World War I and World War II.
