Loved ones gathered Thursday for a final farewell for a 7-year-old boy who was killed at an intersection in East New York last month.
Payson Lott was killed on Feb. 27 as he was walking to school with his mom. They were at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Blake avenues when a driver making a U-turn slammed into them, killing him and injuring her.
Lott's teachers, school friends and family came together for what they called a celebration of life at Love Fellowship Tabernacle in East New York. Some even expressed their pain through poetry or music.
The driver that is accused of killing Lott was arrested and charged. Police say she was driving with a suspended license.
