Authorities are investigating the death of woman in the Bronx Sunday.

News 12 is told 61-year-old Angelica Jimenez was found dead in her first-floor apartment at the Castle Hill Houses. 

Police say the Jimenez's daughter discovered her mother unresponsive inside her first-floor apartment just before 7 p.m. 

Officers arrived at the scene on Seward Avenue shortly after and say Jimenez was lying on the living room floor with severe trauma to her head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends of Jimenez tell News 12 she was dating a man for a couple months that she had met on Facebook. 

The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.

No arrests have been made.
