Bridgeport police warn residents of scam targeting seniors

Bridgeport police are warning residents about a scam that targets senior citizens.
Sarah Newkirk, 74, withdrew $500 in cash this week to pay her bills before going to a grocery store.
"We are vulnerable. All you got to do is push us. We fall down, we might not even get up anymore," said Newkirk.
She says a woman began following her from aisle to aisle, then grabbed her purse and took off.
Newkirk says Bridgeport police looked at the store's surveillance video and recognized the thief. They went to the woman's house, and after getting the stolen purse back, they placed her under arrest.
Newkirk says she may be diabetic and weak, but her mind is strong and so is her faith.
