Reducing your risk after heart trouble – is all about education and exercise.
Officials say maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important.
At Good Samaritan Hospital's Cardiac Rehab program, cardiac patients are taught how to exercise the right way.
The hospital offers a three-days-a-week program that runs 12 weeks.
Everyone in the program has struggled with some kind of a heart condition, a blockage, stents and even surgery.
Leon Gurinsky, 76, had triple bypass surgery over four years ago.
"The first time they put me on the treadmill and said you're going to go 20 minutes -- I had never spent 20 minutes on a treadmill in my life," said Gurinsky.
Since then, he lost weight and started going to the gym at least three days a week.
Patients are closely supervised and their heart rate and blood pressure are monitored.
