Court upholds conviction of Rockland bus company owner

Posted: Updated:

A federal appeals court has upheld the conviction of a former Rockland bus company owner.

Richard Brega was convicted in 2018 of bribery and other charges, and sentenced to four years in prison.

Brega's bus company was responsible for transporting children who went to Rockland BOCES.

Authorities say he billed BOCES for work done on his buses that was never performed.

The court ruled that there was sufficient evidence to uphold Brega's bribery conviction.

He was also convicted in state court on separate charges and received one year in jail.
