NYPD: 19-year-old woman slashed in the face while riding 6 train in Mott Haven

A young woman is recovering in the hospital after being attacked on the subway in Mott Haven Wednesday.
It happened at the Brook Avenue station near East 138 Street around 10 p.m.
News 12 is told the 19-year-old woman was riding the 6 train on the way home from work when an unknown man started looking at her. The victim tells police she moved to a different car, but the suspect followed her.
Shortly after, he walked closer in her direction and then charged at her.
The victim told police she was slashed on the forehead and hand, leaving behind a trail of blood before he took off running.
A passenger who was also on the train said he say the man acting suspiciously, even trying to start a fight with another passenger. 
She was rushed to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
Authorities are working on a description for their suspect.
News 12 is told the 6 train was running express Wednesday night after the incident happened, but it has since resumed to a normal schedule this morning.
