Like cupid with an arrow, local businesses are taking aim at shoppers seeking gifts for Valentine's Day.

Chocolate Works in Darien is one of many sweets shops that would say this is their busiest time of the year.

Workers are preparing orders wrapped with red bows for customers' husbands, wives, kids and even teachers.

"They are here at 4 or 5 in the morning, they are getting the machines ready because they will pop the top open, and we have 700 strawberries," says Meredith Schultz Scheine, of Chocolate Works.

They say their heavyweight favorite is the chocolate-dipped strawberry.
