Mount Sinai man accused of shooting cats with pellet gun faces judge

A Mount Sinai man faced a judge Thursday for allegedly shooting his neighbor's cats with a pellet gun.

Clifford Nagel was arraigned on multiple charges of animal cruelty. Police say the incident happened in November on Puritan Avenue, and that the cats' owners noticed three of them limping.

One had to be euthanized, and two others were treated for their injuries.

Nagel was also given an order of protection to stay away from the owner and was ordered to surrender any weapons in his possession.
