School children in Bridgeport presented a check Wednesday to benefit the victims of the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico.
Kids at Cesar Betalla School presented a check for $545 to the “Greater Bridgeport for Puerto Rico 2020 Relief fund.”
Some of the kids involved in the effort say they have family members who have been sleeping outside since a series of quakes struck the island.
Much of the money was raised through small donations. City officials say Cesar Batallia is the first Bridgeport school to launch an earthquake relief effort for Puerto Rico since the disaster.
