National Action Network and Rev. Al Sharpton hosted their annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day public policy forum Monday in Harlem.
Organizers say this year's forum objective was to address how Dr. King’s legacy can be protected in today's political climate.
More than 50 elected officials from all over New York, including Mayor Bill de Blasio, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, public advocate Jumaane Williams and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. attended Monday's forum.
National Action Network Chapters from across the country recognized Dr. King with civil rights events.
