A Bridgeport woman received a wheelchair-accessible van Saturday from Joe Kaliko at the Needs Clearing House.

It is the nonprofit's 20th van giveaway – and all of them were donated to News 12 viewers who requested assistance.

Isabell Richardson's special needs son Aaron would have turned 20 years old this year. She received the van so she can drive kids back-and-forth to Aaron's Journey in Beardsley Park. The special-needs playground was named in her son's honor.

Richardson says this van is now part of her son's legacy.

The van was paid for by the Robert Morris Family Trust. The man behind all of the van giveaways is Chris Canavan, of the Mobility Group. Canavan was honored by state and local leaders Saturday for his role in making the gifts possible.

Canavan says he was inspired to help people with disabilities by a friend who became paralyzed in an accident.
