Dozens from across the state came together to celebrate women and to champion the call for tougher laws aimed at protecting their rights Saturday at the Fairfield County Courthouse in downtown Bridgeport.
It was organized by Women's March Connecticut, which was formed after the most recent presidential election in part as a way to push back against racism, sexism and violence.
The rally also gave a platform to supporters of common-sense gun control measures, along with voter and employment rights.
Similar rallies were held in New Haven and Hartford.
