Family displaced by earthquakes in Puerto Rico retreats to Stratford

A family displaced by the earthquakes devastating Puerto Rico escaped to safety in Stratford.
Puerto Rico has been facing earthquakes for more than two weeks, destroying the homes of many.
Iris Feliciano, her father, her two daughters, and her grandson left everything they owned behind in Ponce, Puerto Rico to stay with family in Stratford.
In Puerto Rico, the family says they were forced to live outside, never knowing when the next quake would hit. They say they were afraid their home would collapse on them.
Feliciano says her father was suffering from the conditions and had to call her family in Connecticut to ask for help. Feliciano's family arrived at the relative's home in Stratford Wednesday night.
Though they're now on solid ground, Feliciano says the future is anything but stable. She says she and her daughters need jobs, her grandson needs to enroll in school, and her father still needs medical help.
Feliciano says she's looking to her faith and the kindness of others to help start a new life in Connecticut.
State education officials said this week that they're ready to help Connecticut school districts handle an expected influx of students displaced by the earthquakes in Puerto Rico.
