Police: Construction worker struck in head by large piece of sheet metal

Police in Franklin Lakes say a construction worker was seriously injured when a large piece of sheet metal fell on him.
The accident occurred Wednesday around 8:40 a.m. as the man worked at a site behind the fire department headquarters.
According to police, the victim, James Weiss, 59, of Saddle Brook, suffered severe head trauma and was flown to a hospital after he was struck in the head by a very large piece of corrugated sheet metal.
Police say he was unconscious when they arrived.
Weiss is an employee of Altona Metal Works in Little Ferry.
