Manager: Armed robber stole $4,000 from Islip gas station

The Applegreen gas station on Islip Avenue was robbed at gunpoint Friday night, Suffolk police say.

The Applegreen gas station on Islip Avenue was robbed at gunpoint Friday night, Suffolk police say.
The Islip gas station manager told News 12 that the armed robber took off with more than $4,000 in cash at around 9:30 p.m.
Police say there was no one hurt during the incident. The robber was able to flee on foot.
The manager of the gas station says it was their first robbery in the past three years.
Police are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
