Nassau police make holiday wishes come true for Westbury children

Nassau County police officers are making a list and checking it twice to make sure a group of boys and girls from Westbury have a very merry holiday.
Each year, police officers dress up as superheroes and take 50 children from the Westbury School District on a shopping spree. The kids who qualify for the grant each get $250 provided by the Nassau County Police Foundation and Target.
The kids come prepared with shopping lists to buy gifts for their families and friends.
One participant says it's fun to go around shopping and be able to surprise people during Christmas.
Nassau County police say this is a wonderful way to build strong relationships with the community and to spread lots of holiday cheer.
