Police say a 23-year-old woman is dead and another was injured in a hit-and-run in Flatbush Sunday morning.

They say before 5 a.m., a Nissan driving eastbound on Foster Avenue near East 55th Street collided with a Mazda, causing the Mazda to spin and crash into a telephone pole.

Police say a 22-year-old female passenger in the Mazda was taken to Kings County Hospital in serious condition. They say a 23-year-old woman, who was also a passenger in the Mazda, was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities say they are still looking for the driver of the Mazda, who left the scene on foot.

The driver of the Nissan was taken into custody and charges are pending.
