A Bronx woman is working with volunteers to make the holiday a little brighter for families in need.

Lynne Corry collected close to 30,000 toys to be donated to young mothers and children who are getting help at the Samaritan Daytop Village.

Corry has been collecting and wrapping gifts for mothers in need for 22 years. She says it’s because she knows what they are going through.

Corry suffered with addiction and homelessness when she was a young mother. She says it was her son Tyler who inspired her to get clean.

When she was in the Samaritan Daytop Village treatment program, she says her holidays were gloomy.

She says she hopes her toy drive for the families there now will help to make their season a little more joyful.

Corry gathered friends and family to help wrap the presents. They will be delivered on her son's birthday on Dec. 18.
