Police say a man was shot multiple times in Bridgeport Sunday morning.

They say the shooting happened around 10:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Arctic Street. They say a dispute between the two men erupted into gunfire.

Officials say nine shots were fired and at least four of them struck the victim.

The victim was brought to Bridgeport Hospital and needed surgery.

Witnesses say they called 911 when they heard the gunfire.

Police say the victim and the shooter apparently knew each other, but are unsure what they were arguing about.

Authorities say the shooter was wearing a mask and was seen leaving on foot. Police are collecting surveillance video and talking with witnesses.
