Police say a woman was fatally stabbed by her 19-year-old son while sitting in a parked car in Brentwood Sunday morning.
Jose Escobar, who lives around the corner says he and his family were friends with the victim, Dora Villatoro-Arriaza.
Police say her son, Akcel Arriaza, killed her at around 6 a.m. Sunday morning in a SUV outside of their home on Adams Avenue after an argument.

Police say they found the woman stabbed to death inside the car and that her son surrendered to police.

Police say there were verbal arguments between the mother and son in the past, but no physical altercations. They say it was the first report of any criminal activity coming from the house.

Police say the victim's husband and three other children were home at the time and were not hurt. They say her daughter is the one who called 911.
The son who they say stabbed her is in custody, and was also hurt by the knife they say he used to kill his own mother.

He's charged with second-degree murder.
Arriaza is scheduled to face a judge on Monday.
