Residents and law enforcement in one Middlesex County neighborhood are working toward bringing awareness to pedestrian safety.
Stickers and signs that read "Slow Down in our Town" were placed on recycling bins and in yards after a speed reduction program rolled out Thursday in Milltown.
Residents say they are concerned about speeding and car accidents in the area. They say they hope the signs encourage drivers to slow down.
Sgt. James Mioduszewski says what's different about this campaign is that the signs and stickers are switched to different locations in the neighborhood to keep drivers alert.
Grants from the county and state help pay for the signs.
The "Slow Down in our Town" campaign started in 2004.
