Blumenthal, Murphy campaign in Washington to end gun violence

Posted: Updated:

Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy held a news conference in Washington Thursday pushing for an end gun violence.

The senators and Reps. Jahana Hayes and Rosa DeLauro joined multiple organizations to advocate against gun violence this week.

The Connecticut lawmakers also attended a national vigil for victims of gun violence Wednesday.

The vigil was held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church and commemorated the seventh anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting as well as the estimated 700,000 victims and survivors of gun violence since Dec. 2012.
