Driver sought in fatal Riverhead hit-and-run
Posted: Updated:The search is on for the hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian in Riverhead.
Police say the 72-year-old man was crossing West Main Street in Riverhead just after 5 p.m. Monday night when he was hit by two different vehicles.
According to police, the first car left right after the accident, while the second stayed at the scene.
The Riverhead man died at the hospital.
Police are now looking for the small white colored SUV they believe left the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call Riverhead detectives at 631-727-4500, extension 289.
