An alleged drunk driver is accused of causing a four-car crash overnight in Hauppauge.

It happened on Express Drive North around 1 a.m. Police say Rafael Garcia-Erazo, of Westbury, was drunk when he rear-ended a Volkswagen that was stopped at a light at the intersection of Wheeler Road.

The Volkswagen then hit a Ford, which in turn hit a Nissan.

Police say Garcia-Erazo's 34-year-old cousin and a 12-year-old girl were inside his car at the time.

Detectives say that no one was hurt.

Garcia-Erazo’s vehicle has since been impounded.

Garcia-Erazo is facing a slew of charges, including DWI and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 – also known as the Leandra’s Law charge.

During a court appearance Friday, police said Garcia-Erazo told them that he was coming from a Thanksgiving party and had four to five beers. Police said he was glassy-eyed, woozy and smelled of alcohol after the crash.
Garcia-Erazo pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and had his bail set at $5,000 cash.
