Police say a 15-year-old boy was stabbed numerous times in Westchester Square Thursday.
They say the call came in around 11 a.m. about a stabbing on the Westchester Square subway station platform. Police say a group of teens desperately ran inside a Barber Academy after witnessing the stabbing. "I asked them what happened, they said my friend just got stabbed in front of me," said barbershop manager Gilbert Acevedo.
Acevedo says he called 911. Larry Ahmed, a student of the Beyond Barber Academy, responded to the emergency before first responders were able to arrive at the scene.
"I could tell he lost a lot of blood because he looked drained. I told him to have a seat, got gloves, we got towels, we did whatever we could do for him," said Ahmed.
According to police, the teen was stabbed multiple times in the shoulder and was sent to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.
He is expected to be OK.
A 15-year-old girl told News 12 that about 10 men approached her friend group while they were waiting for the No. 6 train in Westchester Square. She says they all had black masks and white hoodies on.
Police say they are looking for a group of seven men in connection to the stabbing. The suspects are believed to be in their early 20s.
No arrests have been made.
