A Suffolk school district is lowering its carbon footprint by rolling out the first line of fully electric buses in the state.
Bay Shore schools and the county transportation service are partnering up to provide four 100% electric Blue Bird buses.
Officials say this will not only reduce emissions and the use of diesel fuel, but also save taxpayers money.
The district provides bus service for more than 6,000 students.
