Drag queen who reported on impeachment hearings in DC performs in Asbury Park

A drag queen who went to Washington D.C. to report on the impeachment hearings performed in Asbury Park Sunday.
Pissi Myles says she was scouted by the news organization Happs to cover the hearings. She showed up to report in drag, and says the media attention she has been receiving is surreal.
Myles says she went to Washington D.C. because she wanted to be able to report on such a historical event in an unbiased way. She says that because of the coverage she received, she was able to voice some of her opinions.
"There are so many things that this administration has done that affected marginalized groups, and in particular queer identifying people, and it's important that those people's voices are heard and that they're represented in a hearing like this,” she says.
Myles, who lives in New Jersey performed Sunday night at Georgie’s Bar.
The bar’s general manager tells News 12 that Myles started out doing drag years ago. He says Myles reporting in drag is a way for the LGBTQ community to be heard:
“Not many of us have a voice in politics, so for her to do something like that, it really shows that we are interested in it, we have a voice, and we're not going anywhere,” says Joe Cole, Georgie's general manager.
Myles says she is in talks with Happs about possibly continuing to report and cover more political events in the future.
