12-year-old says she was sexually assaulted during sleepover

A mother claims her daughter was sexually assaulted at a friend's house Saturday by a stranger.
The woman, who asked to be called Jenny, said her 12-year-old daughter was sleeping over her friend's house when it happened.
She says it happened around 8 a.m. about a block away from her apartment in Stratford.
The alleged victim, who asked to be called Crystal, says she awoke to a man who took her arm and tried to place it between his legs. She says she fought back and he took off toward the back porch.
At that point, Crystal says she called out to her friends who were asleep in the same room, then ran home to her mother, who called 911.
"I want him caught and I want justice for my daughter, just like my daughter said she wants justice herself," said Jenny. "And thank God that she knew how to defend herself because if not, I wonder what else he could have done to my daughter."
Jenny says when she was 8 years old, she was a victim of sexual assault, so for her daughter to go through a similar experience has brought back painful memories.
Police are not commenting on the case.
Crystal says the community will not be safe until the man who assaulted her is behind bars.
