7 arrested after officers exposed to fentanyl in Mott Haven drug raid

Multiple officers were taken to the hospital Thursday night after being exposed to fentanyl when they were executing a search warrant. 
News 12 is told seven people have been charged with possession of a controlled substance after the drug raid at 304 Willis Ave. in Mott Haven around 7:30 p.m.
Margaret Payano, 46, lives inside the apartment federal agents and police officers raided Thursday night.
News 12 is told they had a search warrant to gain access to the apartment on the fourth floor. Loud bangs is what neighbors who didn't want to be on camera describe hearing around 7:30 p.m.
News 12 is told the agents discovered the people inside, processing and packaging fentanyl.
During that search, officials say they were exposed to the deadly substance. Police say five officers and those inside were treated at a hospital and were all later released.
All of the seven people arrested are facing charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a drug paraphernalia and reckless endangerment.
Among those in police custody are four people from the Bronx, two from Brooklyn and one person from New Jersey.
