Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim wins re-election following primary controversy

Democrat Joe Ganim has declared victory in the race for Bridgeport mayor.
Ganim gave his victory speech Tuesday night saying, "Thank you, Bridgeport, for honoring me to be your mayor for what will be now, my seventh term."
Ganim was running against Republican John Rodriguez and several write-in candidates, including state Sen. Marilyn Moore – Ganim's challenger in the Democratic primary.
Moore beat Ganim initially in the primary, before absentee ballots put Ganim over the top, leading to a lawsuit challenging the results.
"It is as equally humbling today, as it was four years ago, and as it was when I was first elected in 1991," Ganim said.
