A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for a new adaptive playground in Massapequa Park on Monday.

The new facility at the Carman Road School was made for children who have disabilities and those who don't.

The playground was designed by a committee of teachers and occupational, physical and speech therapists.

"We put together a special place that is safe for them to play in," says Bob Dillon, of the Nassau Board of Cooperative Educational Services.

The area features a sensory board, a track, a hand bike, climbing dome and more.
