Police: Suspect wanted for stealing packages in Bushwick

Posted: Updated:

Police say a suspect is wanted for stealing packages that had more than $2,000 of clothing in them in Bushwick on Sept. 10.

The suspect is seen on surveillance video around 2 p.m. walking through a gate, finding the packages outside an apartment, then coming back with a garbage bag to put several of the packages inside.

The apartment is on Eldert Street between Broadway and Bushwick Avenue.

The NYPD says that people should select the option that requires someone to sign for the package when you place an order. They also say consider shipping the package to a neighbor, family member or friend you know will be home at the time.

Officials recommend putting insurance on the package, especially if it's a costly item. They also say to try and leave specific instructions on where you would like the delivery person to place your package.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
