Make-A-Wish: West Deptford teen becomes honorary member of Las Vegas Police Department

A West Deptford teen became an honorary member of the Las Vegas Police Department, despite physical challenges.
Riley Carty, 15, has always had a love for law enforcement -- it's even been his go-to Halloween costume for years.
It's all thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation, who helped grant Riley’s wish of becoming a Las Vegas police officer for a day.
A quiet caravan of New Jersey State Police and Philadelphia police escorted him to the airport for a big send off.
Once in Las Vegas, Riley had a full day of actives, working side-by-side with his idols -- the men and women who responded two years ago after the mass shooting.
His trip came months after Riley had just gone through a second brain surgery to help ease the symptoms of seizures.
While Riley says he has had no seizures since his surgery, he's still working on regaining strength in the left side and his arm.

His Make-A-Wish trip-made him more determined than ever to follow his dream of working in law enforcement.

Make-A-Wish New Jersey will be holding its "Walk and Roll" event Sunday at the Wishing Castle in Monroe Township.
