National Grid takes emergency action to reconnect gas customers requested in state order

National Grid says it's following a state order to reconnect residential gas customers.
The company said Monday it is taking "immediate action" after a Public Service Commission investigation.
It found that the utility improperly denied service to more than 1,100 customers.
As News 12 reported, National Grid denied new requests for service because plans for the Williams Pipeline were nixed and current supplies are low.
National Grid was facing millions of dollars in fines if it did not comply with Gov. Andrew Cuomo's order.
