Police: Husband accused of killing estranged wife with machete arrested in Pennsylvania

Police say the estranged husband of the woman that was killed when she was run over by a car and attacked with a machete was arrested in Pennsylvania Thursday night by the U.S. Marshals Regional Task Force.
Victor Mateo, 63, was taken into custody after police found out he had family and owned property in Hazelton.
Mateo is accused running over his estranged wife, 58-year-old Noelia Mateo, with a car last week and then viciously attacking her with a machete on Ellsworth Avenue in Throgs Neck.
She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Noelia's relatives tell News 12 she was on her way to take her grandchildren to school when the attack happened. Neighbors say she had moved into the area last year.
News outlets report Mateo was held overnight at a correctional facility in Pennsylvania without bail and will need an extradition hearing to return to New York City.
News 12 is told the Pennsylvania Task Force also worked with members of the NYPD and that Mateo is expected to be charged sometime next week.
