Mayor de Blasio works on law to prevent car accidents following death of 10-year-old

Mayor Bill de Blasio says he is working on a new law after the tragic accident in Midwood that claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy last week.
De Blasio announced that he will be working on getting a law that requires dotors to report to the DMV when people are diagnosed with something where they should not be driving.
The mayor says that in the case of the death of Enzo Farachio, who was hit by a car while waiting at the bus stop, the driver should not have been behind the wheel.
"We need a law in Albany that requires doctors to report to the DMV any one that should not be driving a car because they might be in a situation where they can’t control it, and by the way, there are also other examples where you are obligated as a professional to report something that might be dangerous. This should be right in that category," said de Blasio.
De Blasio also says that more enforcement and fixes to streets will need to enact change to prevent car accidents.
