Medical condition blamed for crash into lobby of Trump Plaza

A medical condition is being blamed for a driver smashing his car into lobby of Trump Plaza in New Rochelle on Tuesday night.
Police say a 63-year-old man from Larchmont, in a black 2018 Mercedes-Benz, was traveling northbound on LeCount Place, approaching Huguenot Street when he failed to make the left turn onto Huguenot Street around 9 p.m. He then continued straight into the front entrance of the 40-story luxury residential building on Huguenot Street and into the lobby.

The driver and the concierge, a 41-year-old male, who was inside the lobby at the time of the crash, were injured. Police say none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, but both people were taken to the hospital.
The driver told police he had “blacked out” prior to striking Trump Plaza.  He showed no signs of impairment, and it appears that he suffered from a medical condition which contributed to the accident.
