A driver and passenger were shot while in their car, leading to a crash in Brownsville Thursday.

Police say it all began on Buffalo Avenue and East New York Avenue around 1:15 a.m.
Investigators say the two victims, a 28-year-old and 29-year-old man, were sitting in their car near the corner of Buffalo and East New York when someone started shooting.
Officials say they tried to drive away but ended up crashing into a parked car on Rockaway Parkway between Winthrop Street and Clarkson Avenue and flagged down a passing driver and asked him to call the police.

They were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
